I live for the days when it's over 100 degrees, so this summer has been amazing! Loved the 90 degree weather for weeks straight! As fall has been getting closer I have been so sad to see summer leave. But I realized I have way more fall and winter clothes than summer clothes, I am so excited to pull out all my sweaters and boots! Yay for fall! I have never been a big winter person. Cuddling up under a blanket to a good movie with the fireplace on is my idea of winter. Not freezing in the cold wind and having to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to make it to work on time because of snowy roads. Since I have started dating Austin I knew I was going to have to learn to love the winter because one of Austin's passions is skiing.
I know this is a little early to be posting about snow, winter and skiing but I have been thinking about it all week! All the friends got together this week to check out a Jeremy Jones movie called Further. It was an unreal movie!! It is a documentary about him snowboarding all over the world. It was ridiculous! He was gone for 2-3 weeks at a time camping in Japan, Austria, Norway and Alaska. I like camping, but only for 1-2 nights, so I can only imagine what it is like to camp for weeks in below zero weather! It made me really appreciate all the athletes who explore the mountains where no one has gone before. Depending on the area that Jones decides to ride can take all day to hike to the top just for one run. That is crazy to me! I am so thankful for the ski lifts so I can do as many runs as I want with no hiking up the mountain with all my gear!
This is the poster that Jeremy Jones signed for us. You can barely see him riding down. That is completely insane to me! It was really cool to meet the man that does this for a living!
I would never in the world ski down a CLIFF! Seriously, the man is crazy!
Zach and Cam with the man!
Zach and Cam with the man!
It was a blast to be with everyone again and have a good time! And now I cannot wait for the winter and all the snow to come!!! I want to get on those slopes!
Bring on winter! :)
